Men Have Protective Factors of Obesity

Just found a little boy who did the diet to reduce weight badannnya than women. Presumably he had a protective factor that could make him avoid obesity.

Men usually just have a tendency to gain weight after marriage. Quoted from Health24, Monday (23/08/2010) most of the men had a number of advantages over women in terms of basic physiological and weight.

Factors that form a protective shield men from obesity and excessive weight gain, namely:
1. Has a basal metabolic rate is higher than women.
Basal metabolic here including the amount of energy required to maintain body functions at rest, the energy for physiological processes like breathing and digestion.

Basal metabolic rate of men is higher than 5-10 percent of women who have weight and height are equal. It also causes differences in body size and body composition between men and women.

2. Having a body fat percentage lower than women.
On average men have greater muscle tissue and body fat are 50 percent less than women. It is estimated that men had a body fat by 14 percent, while the women by 24 percent.

3. Maximum oxygen consumption (VO2) is higher than women.
This is because men have a higher muscle mass and body fat percentage is lower. The existence of the male hormone testosterone. This hormone can act as an anabolic agent that can help increase muscle mass.

It is these factors that make a man 'protected' from being overweight or obese. But in some men often found to have body fat.

There are three factors that can make men fat is excess caloric intake, lack of energy is wasted and excess alcohol consumption.
